UFC 150 Thoughts
By Eduardo Martinez on August 19, 2012
- I personally scored the fight for Frankie Edgar, thought he clearly was the winner. I thought the only round Henderson clearly won was Round 1, thanks to his awesome legkicks. I have no idea why Henderson abandoned the legkick strategy that worked for him in the first frame. Edgar eventually took over with that knockdown and landed the much better strikes throughout the rest of the fight. At this point in time, I think Edgar should be the number one lightweight on the planet.
- Donald Cerrone vs Melvin Guillard was one of the most exciting short fights I’ve seen in a long time. Cerrone badly got hurt with a hook and a knee to the body. The fact that he was able to recover and win in such a brutal way was amazing stuff. Awesome, awesome fight and my highlight of the evening.
- Shields dominated what was a lackluster fights, but he clearly won the fight. I thought Shields won Rounds 2 and 3. Okami also had an okay performance against Roberts.
- Holloway vs Lawrence was a solid fight with a pretty spectacular ending. I love seeing body shots play such a big role in a fight.
- Awesome seeing a former STFC fighter, Erik Perez, win via knockout in only 17 seconds. Just brutal awesome stuff.
