Throwback Thursday – Carlos Diego Ferreira vs Danny Salinas

Here is a Throwback Thursday classic that pitted Danny Salinas against Carlos Diego Ferreira for the Lightweight title at STFC 24.

At this point, Danny Salinas was an established 14 fight veteran of the sport and Carlos Diego Ferreira was an undefeated title contender who was making a name for himself in the South Texas MMA scene by submitting everybody but one opponent. These two Valley favorites went back and forth in the fight and even delivered a “Holy Sh-t” moment near the end of the 1st round when Salinas landed a clean shot that dropped Ferreira. Ferreira went on to defeat Salinas in the next round to capture the Lightweight title from Salinas but Ferreira never defended the title as he was signed to Legacy, captured the Legacy Lightweight title and then UFC right afterwards.
