Fedor Emelianenko to fight Pedro Rizzo on June 21st.

It was announced on Twitter that former PRIDE heavyweight kingpin Fedor Emelianenko will face former UFC heavyweight contender Pedro Rizzo. Rizzo is best known for his classic five round war with Randy Couture at UFC 31 and for being Dana White’s golden boy back in the early Zuffa days. Rizzo looked at his best in a great fight with Josh Barnett at UFC 30 heading into his first title clash with Couture.  Rizzo didn’t live up to the potential (or the huge money contract) that White and the Fertitta Brothers saw in him. Roman Zentsov, A training partner of Emelianenko,  knocked out Pedro Rizzo in his 2nd PRIDE fight back at PRIDE 31  in only 25 seconds.  Rizzo has long been considered past his prime and recently, Dana White asked him to retire. This is going to be an easy highlight reel type win for Emelianenko.
